Workin’ it out just got easier. This is part 2 of 2, in the workin’ it out at the playground series.
Sprouting up across the country are what has become known as “adult playgrounds”. Usually built in community areas near walking trails or other play areas, these are specifically designed play areas for adults! Back in June one was put in near my house and I’ve been dying to try it out. It doesn’t look like much upon first site but as with most things you get out of it what you put into it.
Designed as a circuit these playgrounds of sorts are a great way to get in a quick workout on the run. Especially for us busy moms who frequently travel to playgrounds for hours on end 😉
What’s great is each piece of equipment has workout ideas displayed on them. Getting in a quick 20 minute session is easy by just following the idea workout instruction on each station.
This one included stretches and yoga poses. This spot could almost be an entire workout on its own!
This stations included ideas for upper body cycling.
The chest press includes a resistance knob so you can find the level you are comfortable pushing/pulling.
Push ups and dips can all be completed at this station.
Work on your core here with ab crunches and leg lifts. (I spy with my little eye a photographer)
Have you ever visited an adult playground?
