Today is a weird day for me. For the past several months my friends and I have been working hard to put together a panel for Fitbloggin’ . Today at 5:00pm Laura, Phyllis and Sarah will be presenting without me. It’s kind of ironic since our presentation was all about making your blog a business with a large emphasis on NOT quitting your day job right off the bat. So I’m in Central New York completing tasks this weekend for my day job.
I hope my ladies give a ROCKING presentation and if you are reading this and at Fitbloggin’ today be sure to check them out!
I woke up this morning determined to have a great day no matter what and be thinking of my ladies at 5pm! And when in DOUBT WORKOUT!! It’s a life quote folks! 😉
Another title for this blog could have been Hello Plyo since that was the class of choice today.
So what is Plyo:
Plyo are compact exercises working more than one body area at a time. Interesting fun fact for you fitness folks did you know that the RUSSIANS started this method of training over 40 years ago to increase their Olympic athletes performance? The more you know 😉
I love how this class is so different each time I go. Wednesday night it was a mix of weights, cardio, jumps and abs. Today’s workout was a mix of kettlebell movements, cardio and abs.
We did 5 rounds of movements with 10 reps for each movement with cardio in between each round.
Oh and let me tell you add in a few college age kids home from school into a class and the whole class intensity increases a notch!
There were tricep dips, sumo squats, burpees, steps ups, russian twists and these puppies:
Jumping squats….while burpees make me sweat A LOT, jumping squats I think are tougher. Plyo is great for developing explosive energy.
I’m looking forward to continuing these class throughout the summer!
My house is currently filled with the aromatic scents of strawberries that I’m experimenting with today….look for recipes soon!
If you skip on over to Joy Fitness and Style today you might see a familiar face Thanks so much for the highlight Joy!
Happy weekend everyone!
Question of the Day: Have you ever taken a Plyo class? Tell me about it.
