Today lunch was a big question mark for me so I went to the fridge to work up a masterpiece. My brother in laws wedding is quickly approaching (October is close!) and I need to still lose some weight before the big day. I’m making an extra effort to remove some carbs from my diet.
In college I tried the whole Atkins Diet which encourages you to cut out carbs, and not just a few but basically all of them. Super NOT healthy I’m not encouraging that at all. I thought in those days I would try it out but it just left me wondering how is 3 pounds of bacon better for you than a piece of bread? It’s not a winning formula.
Now I’m just trying to remove a few of the carbs when I can from my diet. Case in point 2 pieces of bread that have become my lunch staple. Today I’m mixing it up with lettuce instead.
Tuna Lettuce Rolls:
- Roasted Red Peppers
- Pickles (YUMM)
- Lite Miracle Whip
These babies hit the spot and will be paving the way for some other “lettuce taco” ideas I’m running through my head.
I also received my son’s Whittlebee Box in the mail today! And now I’m sure your asking WHAT THE HECK IS A WHITTLE BEE?
Whittlebee is a company out of California that sends you a monthly box of 8 pieces of clothing for your child. No Malls, No hassles, no meltdowns just delivered straight to your door once a month for $39.99.
This is our third month with the service and I have to say its the first time we’ve gotten it right! We use the service for my oldest.
What’s great about Whittlebee is you fill out a profile of your child including sizing, likes and color preferences. When we first started I assumed my son was sporty since that’s a word I would use to describe him. Unfortunately his clothing style didn’t really match up to the Whittlebee sporty box. He’s definitely a preppy kinda guy based on this box alone!
My son all 5 years of him prefers to wear “collar shirts with buttons” as he calls them. I have a really hard time getting him to put on a regular t-shirt, I don’t get it, but he hates them. This box was perfect with not one but THREE collar button shirt!
We also got some great shorts as well. I’m not crazy about the cotton shorts, but you can’t win them all! I know he will wear them.
For $39.99 I have to say it’s a bargain and sometimes a lifesaver. My youngest son has turned into a horrible shopper, so shopping for clothing a rough experiment in parenting. You can see just from this photo the value of these clothes is much more than what you pay.
I have two previous boxes of clothes that my boys have been wearing. Those clothes have been washing really nicely and holding their shape. My youngest son likes to eat the collars of all his shirts? It stretches them all out
drives his mother cray-crazy but I haven’t had that problem with the Whittlebee shirts!
I also love the wrapping the clothes come in, it’s like a Christmas present each month waiting to be opened.

I received no compensation from Whittlebee for this post.
I’m just letting you know about a service I use. If it can save you sometime and energy give it a try.
I think they need this service for women! Actually they kind of already do for me it’s a site called AnnTaylor! Once a month I spend money with them and the clothes get delivered right to my door! 😉 What did people do before online shopping?
