Hello, I’m hoping if you live in an area that celebrated, you are enjoying your extra hour of sleep! And the fact that it is now dark at 5pm.
My dog nor my children understand this practice. They don’t really use the clock that much.. 😉
We enjoyed our extra hour catching up from a fun Saturday night Halloween Party! This year we decided not to dress up. That’s not really like us but it just seemed easier this year. When we received the invitation to the party we kind of knew we had to dress up! The invitation literally said costume is A MUST.
After throwing a million ideas by my husband:
An 404 error code? His response a WHAT?
MapQuest pin dots? Again WHAT?
Duck Dynasty? No
Miley Cyrus? Absolutely no.
We decided the Halloween store would solve all of our problems. everything was 40% off and they HAD to have something left for us.
After combing for about 30 minutes we came upon these gorgeous wigs and shirts and knew, hardcore biker were for us!
Troy rocked a sweet mullet and I had this beautiful black wig (which in this picture kind of looks like my real hair?!) I wish I had taken more pictures but this outfit had ZERO pockets so Troy held onto my phone for me. That really cut down on my photo snapping skills. It took people a bit to decide if Troy’s sleeves were real or not…I think he had to cut his arms out of this shirt by the end of the night!
After sleeping to celebrate the extra hour we were up early Sunday on the road again for my son’s Hockey Game. I don’t remember hockey being this much work last year (selective memory?) and we are barely into this season. That’s not a good thing…
R had a goal and was very excited and if you look closely you can see Troy helping with the bench. Is it just me or is the other team (white) Wayyyyy bigger than our boys?
With hockey I NEVER know how cold it’s going to be at some of these rinks. So I opted to wear my compression socks under my jeans…just in case it was a cold one. I’m also making my kindergarten teacher proud here by having them on the wrong feet!Hey at least I can still put together the little guys puzzle I haven’t lost all my youth skills 😉
I’m not a big compression socks “wearer” usually I will throw them on after a long run for an hour or two but that’s about it. And I only have one pair so there are other variables like are they clean? But I’m thinking there might be something to these babies. After wearing them all day I decided to get my 5k for the day in on my treadmill.
I set the timer for 45 minutes and HOLY SMOKES BATMAN:
That’s a 26 minute 5k!!! I know for some of you that’s not fast at all but this is ME we are talking about here. That’s a 2 minute PR for me on a treadmill!
Granted it’s on a treadmill so it’s also not technical running but I was so inspired by this time that I signed up for a 5k to get a new official race time. I haven’t run a timed race since the summer. It might be time to see what these legs can do!
And speaking of legs….Congratulations to all the runners and athletes who ran the NYC marathon yesterday! I watched some of it on TV. Just amazing to see so many people out there, and now so many people now that I know!! Great work everyone!
Today I’m getting beautified with some new color and a cut. This is soooo overdue but I’m bad about sitting down and scheduling it. I’ll go through these phases of wow my hair looks great today I don’t need a cut then I get into the 3 week long OMG my hair looks like I was the only survivor of a horrific explosion. It’s extreme. I can’t wait to enjoy some me time!
Question of the Day: Do you do daylight savings time? What’s your fastest treadmill 5k?
