**Disclosure: I was provided a Wooden Cooking spoon from Tuttorosso as compensation for this post.**
As the temperatures outside fall, inside my kitchen gets a little warmer. It’s time for soups and chilis to take off the evening chill. And honestly there is something about a great comfort food that can’t be duplicated by store-bought imitations. No they need to be the homemade kind to really hit the spot. The kind that take hours of love with the perfect list of ingredients that have been passed down from mother to child. There is something special about a recipe that can trigger a memory.
Tuttorosoo Tomatoes knows that the MOST important ingredient in any recipe is YOU!
For me the smell of jerked venison triggers childhood memories. And the taste…. OH man there is NOTHING like it! My dad guarded that recipe with his life. It even had a special hiding place in our home. A few times a year he would break it out and we would help make the brine. This recipe took days to properly set and cure the flavors in the meat. Talk about a labor of love.Still to this day I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. But no spoilers here that recipe is still a family secret. 😉
My family doesn’t have a tradition of passing down a wooden spoon, but we do have a secret family recipe! Some wooden spoons are passed down from generation to generation. While I wasn’t lucky enough to experience that history in my family I know many people who have. Almost as if the spoon is part of the recipe!
Tuttorosso Tomatoes knows this tradition well and is sponsoring a Simply the Best Cooking Spoon Sweepstakes. Don’t worry if you’re like me and don’t have your own family spoon here is a chance to get one! Now through November 12th you have the opportunity to enter to win your very own cooking spoon! 3,000 wooden spoons will be given out with one grand prize winner getting a Tuttorosso Wooden cooking spoon as well as a 6 piece Signature Cookware set by Le Creuset (valued at $700). Who couldn’t use that?
I received my spoon this week and am already thinking of some recipes to create and break in the flavors of our first Benda family wooden spoon! The Tuttorosso website is also full of 30 minute meal options I’m looking to try as well. This spoon is heavy-duty and can stand up to some serious cooking wear. Who knows someday I might be able to pass down this very spoon to my own little chefs.
Start your own family tradition and enter to win a Wooden Cooking Spoon from Tuttorosso Tomatoes before November 12th. #therightspoon
