I had an excellent week! The boys were home from school, we got to hang out, and bond. It also felt like it was a week of eating out for some reason. Even though I ate every meal I planned for last Sunday! I guess I’m so used to eating food I make that 3 meals out now seems like many!
First my favorite holiday of the year is quickly approaching and I really feel that I need a Irish mug for the day. I’m debating between these two numbers I found online. One says “I’m outdoorsy in that I like getting drunk on porches” and the other says “You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning”. While neither really projects “healthy in moderation” living. I find them both hilarious and need to order one of them. Which do you like better?
Thursday I got the chance to have lunch with an old friend who I haven’t seen in YEARS! Beranda and I as well as my boys hit up Beer Belly Deli. It was really good. HUGE portions and delicious! I got a beef and horseradish sandwich that was out of this world! And although I didn’t get a picture of Beranda and I, we have some plans to try out a class together soon. photos then I promise. It was a nice lunch and chance to catch up. In the mean time I was impressed the deli had coloring sheets for kids.
Afterwords we took a trip to the bounce house. A mom’s worst nightmare and my children’s favorite place.
Last night was family night so we took the family to Kirby’s for dinner! And this black and blue salad was all mine. Well all mine except for the carmalized walnuts? I should have read the menu better I ended up with a HUGE pile of them at the end. It was also sad since we watched the end of the Cuse game there as they lost to Georgetown (WTH?)
But no worries since we are hockey people, the night also included a trip to the Crunch Game! It was Fear the Beard night and we were one of the first lucky 1,000 to get beards. My kids thought it was cool to have a beard. I would share with you my picture but I honestly look like the uni-bomber and to protect myself from being added to any FBI lists, that photo is private 😉
Today has been pretty relaxing. We took in a hockey game, had breakfast at our favorite place, and have laid pretty low. There were a few rounds of high stakes trouble games, if you follow me on Intsagram you saw the photos. And if you’re not following me there yet, join the fun!
I also got in a run this afternoon. Now just need to get the motivation to make these 10+ milers. I’m almost 2 months into this year and have yet to complete 1 half…..Boo! I’m working on it.
This week was pretty active workouts wise which shocked me since I seemed to be a slow week in that department.
But all tracked I ran 12 miles ( I should explain my weeks start Sun-Sat, so the above run isn’t included in my 12) and completed 3 hour-long “other” classes including the CuseFIT Spin Class and lifted with husband twice. Then last but not least I completed this week’s #nogirlypushups challenge.
I wrote on twitter that the push up challenge makes me want to cry which scared people. I should clarify it’s not scary but push ups for me and my body currently are difficult. I know the only way to get better is to do them! But some days even just the 3 days that the challenge calls for make me cringe. Let’s just say it’s working 😉 I don’t hate burpees so my fitness hate are push ups.
In case you missed it, The BAMR Bands giveaway is still going on if you haven’t yet entered! One lucky winner wins a BAMR Band of their very own!
And last but not least I’m on the hunt for some new running shoes. I really need a shoe that is for distance, my current shoes are great for short runs and while I love them I know that they aren’t going to be good for my upcoming half. I’ve always run in ASICS but I just don’t know what I want.
These are fun though right? They would match everything!
Question of the Day: Which Irish Mug would you choose?
