Happy Saturday I hope you are having a busy one! It’s December and that means it’s time for a November goal assessment and new goals for December!
But first let’s talk about a local gem you need to try out if you haven’t yet!
My son had his 8th surgery earlier this week which has made Upstate Children’s Hospital our little home away from home. If you’ve ever waited in a surgery waiting room you know that can be the most tense part of the experience. Waiting for the phone to ring with news, watching the other families get their news and the uncertainty of your news can really play on your emotions. Put all those emotions in small waiting room and I honestly need an escape.
My husband and I found ours in a charming little cafe in the Physicians Building. Located at 725 Irving Ave in Syracuse, The Daily Dose Cafe has provided us a delicious escape from the hospital.With great food, coffee, and conversation a trip here is worth the walk.
Mario and his staff have some delicious menu options. I will admit we have tried to recreate these wonders at home but can’t get the same flavor as Mario.
If your planning a trip near the hospital area I recommend popping in and saying hello! Mario told us his introducing a fish taco Friday, in addition to his regular favorites. If you are there in time for breakfast I suggest the Egg and Cheese Sandwich. Be sure to order it with jalapeno if you like a little heat!
Also if you’re looking for a sweet treat the chocolate chip cookies are also a hit!
So how did I do?
– Run 45 miles: SUCCESS! I clocked 46.1 miles this month! I’m excited to make that a goal for December too! It felt good to get back into running more after spending most of the summer trying out other athletic activities.
– Try at least 2 new to me classes: Meah I had these all lined up remember the rope climbing activity? That was going to be one of the events and of course I did try out Ice Skating. I hit 50% of the goal. There are some new classes coming up at my gym I’m all into so now to make up for this I’m going to need to try most of them!
– Take a Multi-vitamin: SUCCESS I remembered everyday!
– Meet Some Local Bloggers: Does following some new locals on twitter count? Planning for our monthly blogger meet up fell off my to-do list this month but I did make an extra effort to seek out some new bloggers in the area and start a twitter conversation with. So although we haven’t met in real life, I need find some new blends this month!
I give myself an AOK rating this month. I hit the goal I was most nervous about which was the mileage. And faltered on a few but I at least put forth an effort to them all. The best part about hitting the mileage goal was I didn’t really stress about it. If I went to the gym I made sure I ran a few miles and 30 days later I had easily hit the goal.
Looking forward to December my goals will be similar only upped because why rest on my lorels?!
