Before we kick things off let me first wish a very happy 1st birthday to my nephew Baby Q!
I love when things work out. And I mean in less of a sweating and more of a universe in sync kind of way. My husband has been working crazy amounts of overtime and we were all relived last week when he thought it was over. Sadly the happiness was short-lived and after two 8 hours days he was right back into the 10’s and 12’s. I know it’s only him that’s working but it puts a wrench in all of our lives. Instead of having evening free to workout kid free, I’m not trying to balance them in between the boys sports, dinners and other life activities. I’ve bit my tongue about my frustrations since April and it seems we are now in the home stretch. Seriously I don’t know how single parents do it! God bless you all! Needless to say when he announced they had the 4th- 8th off we were giddy to finally have sometime together!
It was completely unplanned 4th that turned out to be a great day with family at the lake!
B got his first kayak ride! And I think based on this picture he was excited about it?
My oldest had his first paddle board and tubing experience! All we have heard about for the past 24 hours has been if we remember that time we went tubing and when that will happen again. I love him! <3
Even Bella had a nice day at the lake!
And since the hubs is home in the mornings I’ve been getting in some great workouts! I tried out the Ondemand Yoga for Runners. Which I’m hoping will stretch out my hip. You may remember wayyy back in March after the Syracuse half I was having some issues and they seem to be coming back just in time for the Boilermaker! Ugh my luck! The stretches seem to help so I’m hopeful keeping it loose will help me.
I’ve gotten in some runs some in the gym and some outside! I even had time for a outdoor speed workout!! And was excited to get this beautiful piece of runkeeper history! Could it be true, hard work pays off? 😉
Sadly I didn’t make it to an Organized 5k race for the 4th but based on my other activities I’m OK with that! We enjoyed a wonderful day and I’m happy I was able to get in some fitness as well as family fun! Big thank yous to my brother and sister-in-law for having us!
Now onto a day that isn’t as fun or as exciting. Today we are cleaning out the garage. I’m excited because it means we can find our gym, get some space, and get lifting out there again. I’m sad because I know the last time we cleaned out the garage/gym was in the fall and I’ve been collecting random items in there all spring long. Oh and it’s 400% humidity today.
It’s all working out though at least we have the time to do it all together! Here is to day off home projects, they double as a workout.
Questions of the day: Do you like when things workout? How was your 4th of July? Do you also have day off home work projects?
