So wait it’s not November anymore? I swear the older I get the faster the years go by. As a kid summer would last forever…now I’m still trying to grasp that the Holiday’s are already here. This year as an added bonus to usher in the holiday’s I’m participating in the #Elf4health program designed to help keep everyone motivated and inspired throughout the holidays. You are paired up with another elf and email each other and through social media keep each other on target for hitting each goal. Last year I met one of my favorite blends Amalia as my elf!
Each day there is a different challenge. I’ll be honest some of the challenges I have fallen face first on. Yesterday was treat yourself day! I spent my day moving children from ice rink to ice rink there was very little time for self indulgences so I skipped it. Plus I have a birthday, anniversary and Christmas all coming up this month, so splurging on a gift for myself is rather silly when I’ve been dropping gift ideas for weeks.
Today’s challenge was 100 burpees! I decided a great way to knock out most of the burpees would be at P90X class. I’ve been pretty lacky about making the weekend classes since the boys hockey started so the motivation to go was strong today.
Sure enough I was able to knock out 35 burpees in our 1 hour class alone. Since then I’ve been trying them in groups of 10-15 all day long! Nothing says I hate you like a burpee. I’m just happy I could cross them off my to-do list today. Because other than an early morning hockey game (R had a hat trick, proud mom!), P90X and 100 burpees my entire day has been spent lounging and planning up the upcoming weeks!
This my blurry after shot, apparently I was too tired to hold the camera still…
I’m also researching a new laptop. Right now I work pretty much solely from my desktop (WHATS? WHO AM I?) yes, close your mouth you’re collecting flies, it’s true. The desktop I’ve always felt allowed me to contain my work to one area. Like mentally I was leaving work (I work from home) at the computer . But lately I’m find it just to be a major time suck and being able to work mobile with more than my ipad would be helpful. There are some things I just can’t do from an iphone anymore and I would like to be able to take advantage of the time buffers I have in between commitments that right now I can’t. I’m debating macbooks currently.
My awesome elf this round Kristen sent me this workout I thought you might like it as well!
The upcoming week elf tasks should be fairly low-key. I’m always makeup less lately so that’s not really a task for me, that’s just Wednesday. Operation Beautiful is one I’m on the fence about I think I can do more good with words of encouragement than I ever could by leaving a post it note on a public bathroom but maybe that’s the adult in me? As an adult with children I know first hand it means much more to my children to hear me say something to them that’s meaningful. I understand the program has helped people but I’m not really a fan. I’m thinking I’ll probably protest that task, in favor of actually letting some people know, with words to their face, that I think and know they are beautiful. Giving them heartfelt reasons why that are more than just a silly quote.
Other than that I’m enjoying my last Sunday hours until it’s back to the grind for a full week!
I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!
Question of the day: #Elf4health would you sign up? Laptops…what do you have?
