SPUNK ….why hasn’t this word become as popular as twerking? I love to use the word SPUNK. Mainly because it almost guarantees a smile for the person who hears it. Admit it you saw the title of this post and smiled a little!
It’s a great word FULL of enthusiasm and charisma. I also like that it rhymes with funky…I was born in the wrong era… since I think the 70’s would have been my time.
On this same stream of crazy consciousness I like to give my workouts a touch of spunk. Anyone can work out for an hour why not add some spice to the plan? Lately I’ve been dabbling in additions to my workouts that shake it up.
Fartlek runs, weight intervals and various styles of planking have been helping me keep it fresh and spunky in the gym.
I’m a horrible planker, I’ve done the challenges and timed them daily but I need to get a better system for improving them!
Why do we plank? Just look at the muscles it touches!
Here is a version I have been trying at home!
I love my bit timer app you can see it there counting me though the rounds, it had been a lifesaver for me since I get a little lazy when it comes to tracking time. This app does it for me! It also gives cues and rest times in between intervals which was a feature missing from some of the other timer apps I have found.
The mountain climbers for me are the ultimate UGH! moment of this workout. Also the Forearm planks are NO JOKE, I don’t mind the straight-arm planks as much. But the forearm ones are always a challenge for me to hold for 1:00.
Add some SPUNK to your workout this week with this quick 10 minute plank workout! Tips: Engage the core and really spread out those fingers to help balance your body!
Question of the Day: Have you ever participated in a plank a day challenge? What’s your favorite PLANK position? Do you use the word spunk?
