Pushup….a word that strikes pure FEAR into my heart. If you’ve read this blog for any amount of time you know that working on my arm fitness is a goal of mine this year. I would like to proudly display some tanks this summer and as we all know summer bodies are perfected in the winter 😉
Along came Jennifer from Wine to Weightlifting who I’ve been stalking for a little bit. She’s a cross fit weightlifter who had introduced me to her group challenge #nogirlypushups! I stalked silently on twitter while I debated my own
skill struggles with push ups. I considered signing up a few weeks back but was scared. Well TODAY I made it an OFFICIAL Signup!
Alex, Jennifer and Jacki have put together a great group of ladies working toward their goals. My goal for this adventure…I just want to complete the more than 10 REAL pushups. I downloaded the 100 pushups app and invested 99 cents into my future smoken’ hot arms.
The app begins with a test of your ability. I could do TWO yes (2). I thought the app was going to laugh at me but apparently it just started me at week 1 day 1. That called for 12 pushups broken out in sets. MUCH easier…baby steps! 2,3,2,2,3 easy peassy.
As you can notice I’m finishing up week one now which is scary because it’s asking for 22 reps that will be broken out as 4,5,4,4,5. I take them slow and somehow I get there. By golly this app works…or at least I do? I’m not sure which.
I also like that the app offers you tips.
I can’t wait to track my progress throughout this adventure challenge. There was NO way I thought I would be able to get 3 done, and now I can do 5! Interesting in signing up? There is still time just click on the logo in my sidebar and get in the game!
