It happens every few months…the dreaded music playlist burn out. Sure 3 months ago I was rocking out to Scream and Shout from Brit-Brit and now when I hear that song I cringe and immediately press SKIP!
That’s usually a good indication for me it’s time for a new list. More than 3 full song skips. Time to freshen it up!
A forced smile after my last 4 miler….my music sucks.
Music is hard for me, I always want something different. Having XM radio in my car is both a blessing and a curse. My driving goes like this: Good song comes on listen for 30 seconds then panic I might be missing another great song on the radio and immediately press scan through my top 6 channels to be sure. Then sometimes my top 6 have NOTHING to offer so I start to move the dial to other options that don’t fit on my favorites list. It’s a never-ending battle to be sure I’m listening to fabulous music. Then the worst is getting to hear the last 5 seconds of a great jam and nothing more.
Listening to the radio was my first lesson in disappointment. Who remembers when you used to tape songs from the radio? You would listen all day to be able to press Play/Record on that tape deck to get the best song with as little “pops” as possible. I’m upset for my children, they will never learn the sadness that comes when you find out your tape didn’t record at all, after you waited ALL DAMN DAY for ONE SONG!
Now the possibilities are endless for $1 I can own all the crappy songs I want with NO POPS. It’s not a challenge. Now my real trouble is finding songs I like that I want to run with. Sorry Katy Perry but ROAR doesn’t make me want to run, it makes me wonder what song you ripped off because it’s too familiar to be new.
I like to mix up my playlists old and new. I’m liking Brave from Sara Bareilles I don’t know why but I dig.
So if you’re indecisive like me here is my new playlist. Take what you will!
Question of the day: What is your current favorite song?
