Welcome to week 7 of P90X!! Those extra exclamation points are needed to emphasis it’s here, keep up the momentum! It’s all in my head but it works!
Saturday I scooted in then out of class a little early and Sunday was the first true FULL rest day I’ve taken since this started seven weeks ago. And it felt GLORIOUS!!
It made heading to class Monday morning especially challenging. I love the feeling of a good burn but I did feel extra special waking up without new soreness.
Monday was a cardio day. No weights just lots of cardio in various forms with very little breaks. From kickboxing moves, to skaters to push ups to planks to squats to sun salutations….Holy hell, I’m beat. Even typing that sentence caused me to be tired all over again. I think my favorite thing about P90X is the variety of workouts. I never walk in knowing what is coming and even when I can see it’s a weights day or cardio day I still can not mentally prepare for what is coming.
Last night in a last-minute grocery store run for the necessary ingredients for my son’s school lunches, I came across this beauty. It’s a squash of some sort. I can’t wait to make it and see what it tastes like! I’m one of those weirdos in the produce section where if something is calling me I have to try it out.
I’m going to roast it like a spaghetti squash and see what happens! One piece of produce that never calls to me is the UGLY fruit. Never. What a terrible name for a very homely fruit.
Today is getting crazy around here fast. I’m in an all out rush to finish my sons Halloween costume! Yes I am one of those moms, the boys wanted to be something that NO store is going to have so I’m forced to make it. After getting together some ideas I think it’s coming along nicely. I’ve been working on it long enough!!
Here are the newly finished pants I just have a few more rows of money to finish the top but still need to work on the mask! If you hadn’t already guessed he asked to be the Geico Money Man! Ah…. I love my 6-year-old. But sewing paper money to clothing is NO easy task.
Also I learned a new life lesson while working on this costume. Did you know it’s illegal to photocopy money? I didn’t until I was told. SNAFU…we ended up finding this HUGE paper money at the dollar store…crisis averted! I promise to post some pictures of the final outfit once complete. Oh Halloween you bring out the creative in people!
Off to sew some money 😉
Question of the day: Have you ever made your own Halloween costume? What did you make? Are you dressing up this year?
