This fall has put me in a funk! lately my dreams of killer workouts have been getting squashed by an overwhelming urge to sit on my comfy couch and watch movies. This may also be because we have Showtime again since Dexter started and I’m finding lots of new to me movies to watch….ahhhh curse you Dexter!
Today I decided it was time to get serious and came up with a killer workout music mix which I then paired up to my workout! I had a great spin instructor who used to pair the music she played with the level of intensity in the workout, I loved it! For example if you heard “Proud Mary” give your legs a amen because they were about to be SPRINTING down the Rollling…rolling…rolling on the river! I miss those lunch time classes so much. I’m a big music person, I like the way it can inspire and make you think. And I especially love music during a good workout.
To break my funk here is the Elliptical workout today, complete with the music I used. I’m also trying to incorporate more HIIT’s or high intensity intervals in my workouts. These songs provide for me speed changes without needing to time them out. I also am a sweaty mess by the end of the second song. Try this out and let me know what you think….it’s about 26 minutes long and you can add your own cool down song.
After this sweaty mess I added a few extra songs to make sure I got in at least a 5k.
I don’t know how some bloggers get a good elliptical picture mine kept shutting off! If you know the trick please let me know, this is about picture #5.
I added in an additional 20 minutes of upper body weights and called it a day.
I feel victim this week to the pumpkin spice waffles….I knew Target was going to be a mistake yesterday. They are delicious though topped with bananas, some peanut butter and chia seeds. They hit the perfect fall after morning workout spot.
The BIG wedding is this FRIDAY so between helping my husband write a speech and explaining to my son what a ring bearer does I’m hoping to get in some intense fun workouts this week! Gotta look good for the big day! I can’t wait!
