I have been a busy girl this weekend! And I’m fully looking forward to crashing into my bed (and watching two hours of Revenge!).
Happy Mother’s Day to all the momma out there! I hope you all enjoyed a lovely wonderful snow free holiday. It hailed here…no joke hail on May 12th. Upstate never fails to shock me with weather weirdness.
Mind you my weekend has been filled with culinary delights. For my mom this mother’s day I decided there wasn’t a gift that was perfect. Instead we went grocery shopping and created for her MANY heat and eat meals for the busy farm weeks ahead. When my brother, sister and I all lived at home there were lots of hands to help with all the chores during the busy spring crop season. Now it’s just my parents, so I thought making meal times a little less stressful would be the perfect way to give my mom a “break”. We also provided some drinks and paper plates. The boys helped me make cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies to sweeten the gift up 😉
We made a quick dash up to visit my mom and hand deliver her present! I think she liked it
After an afternoon of event working on Saturday. My boys treated me to a lovely dinner out last night and even though I’m completed now with my whole30 journey I just couldn’t bring myself to go overboard now that dairy and bread are back in my life. I’m bringing them in VERY slowly. I didn’t really miss them that much. It’s strange. And I’m finding when I eat them all I get is a massive headache. I’ll be posting my recap of the whole journey later on this week.
It doesn’t look like much but it was DELICIOUS and guess what I didn’t have to cook it! So who can complain about that?

Prior to the hail event today, it was time to do my mother-in-laws gift! My brother and sister-in-law were the foremen on a day of landscaping. And for a bunch of amatuers I’d say we did pretty quick clean work!
The before, middle and after!
I think a lot of our success was based on the littlest member of our band of landscapers. B was ALL in, every job, every tool and especially wearing gloves! I also had my own awesome run in with some burrs if you are wondering what is stuck all over the legs of my pants!
We had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of love for our moms!
Question of the Day: How was your weekend?
