Happy Star Wars Day!!
The total nerd in me thinks this is a great day! We have slowly been introducing Star Wars to our boys. My husband and I are both big fans even though I will admit as a child the ewoks scared the beegezits out of me.
The boys have the real light up lightsabers, T-shirts, and Vader masks. My little guy loves R-2 I think it’s because they have a lot in common. They both are very smart yet speak very little and only a few can understand what they are saying. I know he loves him because he sleeps with a teeny tiny Lego R2 that belong to his brother. It’s quite cute!
Did you know there is a such thing as a Lightsaber workout for weight loss? You can find it here. I might need to really break out the nerd and try this!
In sad news that I’m very reluctant to share: This weekend is the Mountain Goat Run one of my favorite really hard and challenging races of the year. Due to my husbands work conflicts it appears I won’t be able to run it this year :/ It also stinks because I’m just finding out about it today! Such is life.
The Goat is a hilly 10 mile run through the city of Syracuse. If it was a shorter race I wouldn’t mind having someone watch the boys so I could go but the facts are these: I would be gone for at least 3 hours plus drive time and my normal child watcher is out-of-town. So I would need to find someone new last-minute and as any parent will tell you that never works out.
Sometimes being a mom and trying to plan races is extremely difficult. Don’t get me wrong I get my time and I take it. But when events like this come up I find myself getting frustrated. Especially when I train and then can’t make it to the show. My new goal is once the hub gets home from work to run my own 10 mile Goat Run in the neighborhood.
Plus I’m also going to be participating in this event today: You can join in the fun too on twitter #blend5k Learn more on Heather’s Site.
Helllllooooooo Weekend I can almost see you…..
