Greetings! First let me say a special hello to all my new readers over the past few days. Please take a look around. You can learn more about me here. Get some fun new recipes here and I hope you enjoy my little corner of the interwebs.
I’ve been on a little mini- siesta lately, but no worries I’m back! The weather has been incredible and it only seemed right to spend some time outdoors enjoying the sunshine. I’ve also been taking some time to catch up on freelance work and writing deadlines. Exciting Stuff 😉 But don’t worry I have some fabulous things coming your way as well!
I’m now two weeks into the P90X program at my local Y! The classes have been held outside which is fun and also slightly intimidating when you see people hanging out in the park watching you work out! I really now understand why the lions at the zoo just lay there. I don’t want to be watched working out either.
It’s really not that bad but since baseball season has been in full swing there are tons of extra spectators taking a rest from watching the “action” of t-ball to instead watch the action of me trying to pretend I’m coordinated enough for group exercise. It’s a total WHOA moment.
This is my second week of the program and it’s getting tough! Today we had circuits. The instructor divided us up on teams and we kept track of how many reps we completed in the time given. It was a nice friendly competition that kept everyone giving it 110%.
There were jumping squats, burpees, push ups, runs, stairs. There is so much more but I can’t even remember them all! Here is the after….
What you don’t see in this picture is the sweat dripping off my forehead! You can kinda see it shimmering from my shoulder. I’m loving these classes they are tough but they are manageable. There is so much ab and core work mixed in to all the moves, it’s perfect for me. Hear that middle….I’m hoping to remove you from my body 😉
I’m in the final stretch of whole 30 this week and I’m in a serious egg rut! I found real natural bacon and I can’t turn back! I’ve eaten this for breakfast and dinner that past 2 days. 3 eggs some amazing bacon, a heaping scoop of salsa! GET IN MY BELLY. For this meal I added some mushy avocado. Obviously that addition makes it a dinner rather than a breakfast meal. Breakfast is a little early to be breaking out the green goodness.
I can’t get enough, my house currently smells like a bacon factory! Oh and real bacon about 400 times better than the stuff Oscar Meyer makes!I’ve never been one of those crazy bacon girls but whole 30 may have triggered a switch in my brain.
I finally ordered my Boston Strong Boilermaker shirt! They sold out already once but have some more in stock and I didn’t want to miss out again. If you are interested they are $20 and ALL proceeds are going to charity! I can’t wait to rock this while I train for the Boilermaker as well as maybe even the day of the race! That race day can be crazy hot, I’m not sure I could survive in a t-shirt?
I also just learned that Viewsport is located in Rochester, NY! Heck yeah for upstate!
Happy Hump Day! Make it count and be Awesome!
Question of the Day: For races in warmer weather what do you normally wear? I’m a tank girl. Do you like working out outdoors?
