Wooushhhh…… that’s the sound of a fast breeze. Or the sound of what the past few days have been like around here. Let’s catch up shall we? Warning now… this is a rambling post 😉
Sorry that picture just cracks me up!
Have you ever had the joy of taking a barefoot class? Once upon a time my sister-in-law taught them. And I would go to her class when my youngest was still a baby. It’s been a few years since I’ve been back. On Monday my regularly scheduled P90 class was cancelled and we were all invited to join the barefooters. Holy toots! I workout a lot, I shake it up, but my butt was NO match for the initial shock of Barefoot. It’s a booty buster. I’m going to have to make some time in my schedule for a few more of these classes. The pace is zen but you are working.
The instructor said something about 19 muscles in your feet and we don’t use all of them. After her class I would venture to say I might have only been using 9 and she gently woke up the 10 others! She had a great playlist which helped smooth over the pain. 😉
I’m easing seriously back into whole30 for the month of August. Yesterday I stuck to the plan to give myself a on ramp back into it. Today my kitchen and food prep is calling my name. I feel like I’m starting to gain back some belly weight. The scale at the gym disagrees but I know how I feel. The one change that helped me notice belly results was whole30 so I’m back to the program. Maybe abs really are made in the kitchen?
Yesterday was time to get some running in. I broke it up with intervals. One minute sprints // One minute recovery
It looked a lot like this: Warm up, 2 mile steady run, then moving from 6.0 to 7.0, to 6.0 to 8.0 , to 6.0 to 9.0 and down to 4.5 to 6.0, 4.5 to 7.0, 4.5 to 8.0, 5.5 to 9.0 back to 4.5 and DONE. I was a sweaty mess.
After the run I had a few minutes and decided to do some weights and finish off the hour with this ab pyramid:
I’ve got lots of exciting things coming up for you in August! Some great giveaways, workouts and recipes. I’m also looking forward to the Warrior Dash to complete my #whatsbeautiful goal!
Among other things including my dive into real certified crossfit! Starting next week I will be able to share with all of you the experience of a first time crossfitter at a real box! It’s taken me a while to get the courage to join another new gym but Jamie the owner has been fantastic and I can’t wait to see what it’s all about first hand.
So many amazing local Crossfit boxes have reached out to me including CrossFitSyracuse, Crossfit315, CrossFitShockWave, and CrossfitDewtitt . I want to join them all but the old tip of living near your gym so you actually go, would win out! I do plan on going to each of these gyms in the near future and sharing with you the experience of each box.
Speaking of killer playlists here is my latest favorite jam: please note NOT edited*
I was also GIDDY finding these beauties at Bj’s this week. I am newly addicted to this stuff! Cute story my son took a drink from one of mine earlier this week and yells “mommy your water went bad!”
There’s the catch up for the day!
Question of the Day: What are you looking forward in the new month?
