This week I decided to branch out of my usual workout routine and venture into the kickboxing arena!
KICKBOXING = NO JOKE
10 minutes into the class and I was drenched in sweat. Our class was a combination of bag time, weights, and a few little runs! I will be the first to admit kickboxing is one class I probably should be attending regularly. The secret to kickboxing is - have aggression? Beat the ever-loving snot out of a bag and like a Christmas miracle stress tension and anger are magically disappear!
One note for those looking to try out kickboxing might I suggest some gloves first and don’t wear your wedding rings!
I had no idea about the gloves and my hands were killing me. I got over it though and pushed through I’m telling you it’s a fun burn. I left feeling like I could MAYBE pick a fight in a parking lot, maybe
It took me a little while to get the hang of the punch sequences and how to kick. I never thought I would enjoy kicking. It’s not something I do very often in my day-to-day life. But there is something very empowering about it.
Now I’m on the hunt for the perfect pair of gloves. I searched around the Googles and had a hard time finding something that wasn’t a full glove. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I’m finding myself getting the end of summer laziness. Just 9 more days till my children head back to school! I used this as some extra motivation to get moving today:
