If I thought August flew by like a whirlwind I had no idea what the first few weeks of school would be like around here! I feel like a chicken with my head cut off! If you have emailed or commented here I promise tomorrow to get back to each of you.
My brain has been overtaken with figuring out my children’s new schedules, my own new schedule and the never-ending amount of paperwork and snacks that need to be set up, created and filled out.
After visiting the Parade of Homes on Friday Night I was in FULL ON house clean up this weekend. It’s amazing how seeing beautiful new homes makes me want to do so many things to my own home. I ended up just cleaning it out a bit and buying some new curtains for the living room. I had NO idea what a difference a few pieces of fabric could make to a room! I should have done this long ago. The old curtains were red and cheap. The new black and white print really bring the room together. What I like the best is they almost look dark blue and make the walls look more gray!
I finally got back into the gym for myself this morning. Last week was a but of a bust. I taught a few classes but I wouldn’t really consider them workouts since I’m not giving them 100%. I’m determined to get back to 6 days a week, or at least get back on that pace since P90X will be beginning again soon!
A quick 5k and weights ended up being on tap for today.
It looked like this:
Row Machine: 30 reps 45#, 20 reps 60#
Bench Press (Machine): 30 reps 45#, 20 reps 60#
50 situps and a few dips.
My son had some afternoon specialists appointments out-of-town so the rest of my day has been spent driving! Blah! At least it was a nice day to travel the thruway. And we were going to the home of the Wegmans which called for enjoying a great lunch from Danny Wegman!
I also had a cupcake to celebrate the journey. Sprinkles make even the longest drives better!
I also was proud of myself on the way home I resisted the urge to pull into the Reebok store and buy this babies! I have tried them on 4 times now each time loving them and wanting to buy them but knowing I don’t really NEED a new pair of sneakers right now. They are full on WANTS! I decided that if they are there, in my size, the next time I’m there I’m buying them. I love the color and they would be perfect for teaching!
I’m going to try to revisit my back to school arms workout this week and balance it out with a killer LEG day routine!
Other than that the plan is to just keep swimming through the rest of this week!
Questions of the Day: Am I the only one currently overwhelmed by back to school and new schedules? What is your favorite back to school workout?
