The hardest part of being a parent is trying to get your child to eat food that is good for them. When we only had one child I was great at getting him to eat fruits and veggies. Now with two I’ve been pretty lax about making sure I’m making and feeding them healthy well-balanced meals. And it’s not just their diets it’s mine too.
It’s easy to fall into a pizza and chicken nugget schedule. It starts with a busy week after all it’s quick and EASY! Then it becomes regular and you forget that it’s not OK. I’ve been very guilty at different points in my life and have the pictures to prove it. I won’t do it again!
I’m slowly getting back on track and yesterday was the proof! I was super excited when I asked my oldest what snack he wanted to take for school and he replied with BLUEBERRIES!! I made up 12 little bags of blueberries for the kids today! I hope they are as excited about them as
I am my son is. I even made myself a bag as a snack.
Here are some other quick healthy snacks I’ve been making for my toddlers.
Fruit ON Sticks are easy and colorful! I just buy skewers for $1 at the grocery store and cut up what ever fruit we have in the fridge. The more variety the better!
“PB wrap ups”
They are so easy even I enjoy them.
For basic wraps you just need some natural peanut butter, wraps and banana’s.
Simply spread out the peanut butter and add the banana’s. For crunch and texture I added some Cheerio’s to this wrap.
Roll up and enjoy! These wraps are huge so one roll will feed both of my kids.
Great other variations of ingredients include:
- Cereal of any kind
- Chocolate Chips
- Chia Seeds
- Greek Yogurt
There are so many different ways to make these but my guys look forward to them and I feel better as I know they are getting some great protein! And having fun eating great food.
This mornings workout was an intervals run:
Make it a good one!
