I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a while. My BFF was coming into town and I’ve been hearing some fabulous things about a new indoor ropes course that just opened up in our mall. Seriously?! Indoor ropes courses talk about a fun challenge I couldn’t wait to try! I was also going to count this in my monthly goals as trying a new fitness class. Notice I said was…
That is until I got there and lost all my nerve. Upon first site I got nervous. I was hoping this would be contained area not for all in the mall to view! Can you see the people walking through there…in those rafters? That is the ropes course.
Looking down from the safety of the floor I knew I was going to need to give it up. I have a crazy fear of heights. And getting up there and freaking out in front of a mall of people was really not on my Saturday workout schedule. I watched for a while hoping that seeing 10 years olds battle through the course would encourage me to stop being a chicken. Yet I still had an uneasy feeling about the whole thing. In hind site that also may have been my body telling me that I’m starting to get sick but more on that later.
Instead while cruising through the mall we stumbled upon another new and even more exciting event. LASER TAG! The family that plays laser tag together stays together I’ve heard 😉
My youngest was pretty upset about the vest and before our game started he ended up taking it off, all he wanted was the gun. My husband and I took turns carrying him through the game. It was great in that he helped cover up some of the targets but bad in that running around with an almost 3-year-old trying to not get shot at can be a fast way to work up a sweat! It was a ton of fun and I think we will go back again soon. I have to say, I felt a little like Barney Stinson running around shooting at little kids…I won’t even try to lie about it. It was Awwwe…wait for it…SOME!
We also made a stop and picked up some early gifts to each other. Welcome new iphones! I’ve had the 4 but the hubs made the BIG upgrade from the 3. Needless to say he’s a happy camper! That also meant hours of updating and new app purchases once we got home. I think my new phone may actually be full already.I’ve had the white iphone for a little bit was actually SUPER excited to go back to a black phone. The white seems to show makeup A LOT more than the black models.
We also hit up the new larger and improved Dick’s Sporting Goods, where I scored this sweet little cold weather running top. Thumbholes and a neck warmer, I’m in! The Nike Women’s Pro Hyperwarm Dri-FIT Hybrid Shirt. It’s on sale this week for just $52.50, I’m thinking about getting another one. For outdoor running tops that’s pretty cheap. I’m also on the hunt for some cute and comfy running tights. Oh winter you make in Central New York running expensive.
Once home with some dinner in our belly’s it became obvious the whole family was coming down ill. My youngest was the first victim quickly followed by everyone. I have been awake since 4am and at 6:30am I decided to hit the gym just for a light workout. I out in 3 meh miles and have been coughing and crashing on the couch ever since.
I like lazy Sunday’s or in this case sick Sunday’s. I’ve scrubbed every doorknob and counter of the house with Clorox wipes along with remotes and phones. I’ve napped, watched a few movies and cleaned out my DVR. Side note who else is watching The Mindy Project? Beyoncé Pad-Thai OMG I’m still laughing about that!
Hopefully I’ll be felling better tomorrow. I’m hitting up the tea from my Healthy Blog Tea Swap Thanks Aundra! According to Aundra this tea can help ward off a cold and even though this cold is already here, I’m hoping that tea, liquids and wishful thinking will flash it out of here.
I love trying new teas so I’m going to roll the dice! Happy Sunday evening everyone coming up this week on the blog. I’ve got a new workout for you to try at HOME. Along with a new monthly sample box, and a delicious and easy dinner recipe.
Question of the Day: What did you do this weekend?
