Hockey Day in Buffalo

Yesterday was a bit of a blur. After my son’s surgery earlier this week we celebrated with a trip to the Buffalo Sabres Vs. New Jersey Devils Game. He was ecstatic and we made an entire day out of it. Of course a must in Buffalo is a photo with the French Connection.

After collecting our tickets we decided to checkout a new to us German restaurant called Lagerhaus95 it was ok. They had a very limited game day menu and we got charged full price for our kids grilled cheese.  Which was crappy since before we ordered it we asked if it was going to be the same as the adult one and were assured it wasn’t, by the time we finally got our bill it was too late to have it changed to make it to the game so we just paid it. The place was busy but we waited for beers and weren’t overly impressed with the service.

The food on the other hand was pretty good! My husband ordered wings that were incredible and my fish wasn’t too bad either.I got to see some of the SU game as we waited and also enjoyed seeing all of the Sabres fans trickle in. Each time my son saw a Devils jersey he would get all excited. Truthfully he likes both teams but yesterday we were there for the Devils.

My brother and sister-in-law joined us in the trip. They are big SABRES fans and we are big DEVILS fans so it was an interesting game! With all of us talking trash sitting next to each other.

It was our first time seeing the Devils play live, and I have to say I have a whole new respect for Kovalchuk, that guy is amazing. And TV does his skills little justice.

It was a great game that went to overtime then into a shoot out. Sadly the Sabres ended up clinching the game. Boooo sad faces from the three Devils fans at east we got a point for the tie right?!  I have to say though the Buffalo fans were pretty kind to us sitting in their stands cheering for the opposing team. Even as my sons chanted “Let’s go Devils” through the entire game!

We tried to wait outside for autographs from the Devils team,  but they had scheduled a team dinner so it was a bust. Maybe next time!  R had a blast and that was most important!

One happy Devils fan with or without the win!

Since yesterday was a lot of beer, food and travel. I kicked things off on a healthy note this morning with a quick 5k. I love having even a small workout out-of-the-way by 9 am! It’s only 11:30 and I’m already burning through the days to-do list!

My to-do list today may have this on it:

I can’t help it! I read the books, which I really enjoyed. So  I have to see the movies too…you can judge I’m comfortable with my love of gushy silly often campy high school movie love ;) Maybe

I’m also going to dive into the box of goodies I ordered from Vitacost this week! Coconut oil I’m hoping you can fix my skin because I am desperate! Plus I’ve got a dessert I can’t wait to whip up with you! Stay tuned for that! Yumm meal planning prep!

Have a great Sunday!

Question of the Day: Do you use Coconut oil?
