I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday if you were celebrating! Ours was beautiful. The hummus was a hit as well!
There was a bit of indulging in spirits and food over here! But with spreads like this I’m giving myself a pass for the day or maybe it was more like two days (?)
I kicked the day off early with a much-needed Detox Flow Yoga from Gaiam TV. After completing this one, I found another Yoga session that was 30 minutes long and called it a day. I’m not a big yogi but there are days when I just don’t feel like running or heading to the gym.
It also reminded me that I should be incorporating more yoga into my schedule since my flexibility is limited. It felt great to stretch out my entire body and have some peaceful quiet time to myself.
Today’s Elf4health challenge was to look in the mirror and find three things you like about yourself. There was some pretty intense body hating going on yesterday. I found today’s challenge extra difficult. After much thought and deliberation. The one thing I truly love about my body is the fact that it works, it enjoys a challenge and it keeps going. There is a such thing as skinny fat and I’ve seen it first hand. So although my body does have some back fat and other areas I don’t currently love. I’m really working to change it.
- I’ve always liked my eyes. They are blue and the same color as my oldest sons.
- I like my legs they are pretty long which is great for runners.
- My hair is fun…it’s crazy curly, although I straighten it now that I’m an adult. Every once in a while I like it let it go natural, you can kind of see it in this picture.
I had planned to travel to my parents house today but reviewing the weather this morning and the 18″-24″ that is due to fall on my house I decided not to chance it. This would be the ONLY draw back to going back to driving a car. With my SUV I never worried about a lot of snow. Now I’m much for cautious about driving especially 2-3 hours away in heavy snow. Luckily my sister and mom aren’t afraid and came to US today! We had an extra special Christmas exchange and even decorated cookies together.
This was just the beginning. My 8-year-old niece ended up being the greatest cookie decorator and may have a future in being a pastry chef. We had joked earlier that they best thing about decorating with kids was we could blame the ugly ones on them. WOW were we wrong!
I’m trying to detox out my body after the past few
bad yummy days. I did eat a cookie but I am cutting drastically back on sugar and carbs for the next few days. Lots of tea – water & recharging.I’m also getting ready for 2013 and making some serious race and life goals. I can’t wait to share them with you!
Now I’m going to wait for the three feet of snow to fall on my house and curl up with some tea and boys! I love this time of year!
Question of the day: What are you most looking forward to in 2013?
