I’ve been a busy lady this week getting ready for my soon to be, sister in-laws bridal shower today. Over the past few weeks I’ve been busy making invitations and helping get together a menu which is much harder than it sounds for a group of ladies who vary in age from 13-80+. No matter though, we’ve got it covered.
My favorite part of getting ready for the big event was creating the favors!
Homemade Chocolate Raspberry Spread, think nutella with a fruity twist. The perfect guilty pleasure for any age.
Brace yourselves for this recipe its going to sound gross but the end product is to die for!
CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY SPREAD:
- One Part Lard
- One Part Chocolate ( Equal to Lard)
- Raspberry extract to taste usually one tablespoon will do the trick.
Melt the ingredients together in your double boiler. Pour into jars. Let set over night to form.
I found this recipe from a site through pinerest but I had to play A LOT with it to get it to my liking. DO NOT USE semi-sweet chocolate. Instead buy the chocolate fountain shredded milk chocolate. (you can find it at local craft stores I got mine at AC Moore’s) It melts much better and has a thicker creamier taste. I know the lard sounds horrible but honestly its worth it here. 😉
What is the best shower favor you’ve received?
