Hey everyone! Happy Friday and to my nerd friends I hope you are rockin’ that new iphone 5! I’m sticking with my 4 for the time being, the whole google maps controversy scares me a little. I live for that app, driving, walking, biking it gets me where I need to go.
Although I’m getting lots of pressure from the husband to upgrade so he can upgrade. The man who NEVER wanted a smart phone now wants the latest and the best one. Apple you are addicting!
There is no workout on the plan for today it’s a big ole rest day which after this week I’m very excited to have.
For breakfast I kicked it off with something new Chobani Flips. I saw it in my grocery store and had to try it. I picked the honey/banana combo. It was ok, for on the run. I really prefer my own fresh fruit in yogurt but in a pinch on the run I would grab one.
I was excited to get my September Birch Box this week. I know I gush and act like a school girl but for a mom with two boys I rarely get girly time. The Aromatherapy focus 21 drops is a peppermint-y surprise that seems to really work. Feeling sleepy or unfocused apply to pulse points and it perks you right up! I had an office mate back in the day… (Hi Elaine if you are reading!) and she used lots of essential oils. It was my first experience with them. She had a focus spray that had a similar effect in perking me up, I loved it. Who needs coffee with the sweet smell of rosemary and peppermint has the same effect, and it’s 100% natural.
The twist band hair tie was a big hit for me after all it was RED! The Tili makeup bag is cute and super thick to contain all my makeup. It’s the perfect size it even fit a massive mascara! The grey color polish isn’t my favorite but after testing it out on my toes I think its growing on me and will be a perfect fall color.
The kate spade perfume is a little too strong for my taste, I’m not that florally ( is that a word?) The WEI to go looks promising for over night trips! I haven’t yet downloaded the T.Prettyman songs yet, I’m still getting over that she and Jason Mraz called off their wedding. I thought they were super cute together.
My favorite part of this box may have been the one thing Birch Box didn’t list on the card which is the Fall Look Book! Tips for braids, color matching and fall trends. There is also a video tutorial for chevron nails (super cute!) which are all the rage right now! I wish I was coordinated enough to do it myself! I always see amazing nail art on pinterest and wish I had that skill.

Had to chime in..your Birchbox is pretty close to mine! I LOVE the red hair tie thingy, and the polish I was kinda scared of, but I used it this morning on my nails and I actually like it a lot!
It sounds like from the blogs & friends I’ve talked to most people got very similar boxes this month. I like this style hair tie too. I may need to buy additional ones!
I am totally digging on pumpkin beer and chili. Plus these amazing Merrell boots. I need them!
