In fitness land it’s been a busy one around here. P90x is alive and kicking and I’ve been trying to keep my running mileage respectable.
By respectable I mean I’m trying to run at least 3 5k’s a week with some additional mileage at anytime I can get it. For some this isn’t really any mileage at all, but for me 60 miles a month is manageable and leaves me the time I need for my other interests and teaching. A body needs rest as much as it needs motion and I’m trying to respect that balance.
I’ve got a 5k on deck for today with a little foam rolling and yoga.
I’m currently craving another pair of Saucony Women’s PowerGrid Kinvara 4′s. I have the yellow and adore them. I spy that the purple are on sale right now. I’m debating a purchase…shhhh don’t tell my husband who has put me on a strict NO new sneaker policy.
They are so comfortable and light. I love them for running and I’m still eying that Empire State Marathon in October. New sneakers MIGHT motivate me to put some miles on them. We shall see I’m gut checking them right now.
I also have to share with you my own Ellie horror story and apologize if the same thing has happened to you. I’m trying to get their ads removed from my Google Adsense I don’t want to be promoting this company anymore than I already have. I’m seriously, FURIOUS with this company. Back to July I logged into my account to print off recipes from some clothing I had purchased earlier in the year. (I’m setting up budgets for 2014, more on that in another post!) Anyway somehow I managed to turn back on my monthly account. I had no idea this had happened until one day I noticed I was missing $60 from my checking account! OK not $60 it was $57.27, close enough.
I emailed the company and explained I hadn’t ordered anything and was confused by the charges. I was told I had turned back on my monthly membership and the clothing I ordered in JULY had already been shipped. Mind you this was AUGUST 20th! And I would have to return that clothing before they could issue me a credit. Fine that’s understandable. I requested a return shipment slip and waited to receive it. The end of August was a little crazy around here. And I let it slide until the beginning of September. When I realized I still had the clothes and had yet to get a return label? My puppy also really liked the packaging and kept trying to eat it……. every damn day! I was running out of hiding places. (side note are puppies worse than kids with getting into things or WHAT?)
I called the company on September 11th, the customer service lady was sweet and immediately sent me the return label via email. I thanked her and tried to talk to her over the VERY LOUD noises in the background asking her several times if she could even hear me?! She assured me she could. I asked the account be cancelled, she said she took care of it and sent back the clothes the next day.
I thought it was a minor mistake and put it out of my mind. Knowing my return would be coming once they received the merchandise. That is until TODAY when I was again CHARGED $60 for a monthly outfit, and my money STILL has not been returned from the first charge!! I have now sent 3 emails and called asking for this account to be cancelled and my money to be returned. I’m obviously not getting anywhere.
I went in search of their facebook page, which is mysteriously down due to an app vendor issue? Riiiiiiiightt!
Today I spent some time at my bank cancelling the debit card they were using to charge me as well as filling fraud charges against them, to return my money. I don’t understand what is going on but something is NOT right! I refuse to be charged when I’m already owed money and I’ve taken the time to email several times and call to cancel the account. Because we all know how fast those calls happen…I’ve lost years of my life on hold for customer service.
I’m not impressed at all with the way this has gone down.
I am a big believer in giving people and businesses the benefit of the doubt but something is really off here.
UPDATE: I just received an email letting me know my account has been cancelled! Well hallelujah 2 months later! Now let’s see how long it takes to get my money back!
Question of the Day: Have you ever had a nightmare customer service experience with a company?
