Oh humid days….they feel like they are here to stay. On hot days I have a weakness for a chilly refreshing drink to finish off my evening. Sure they are best with alcohol in them but sometimes it’s a debbie downer to ruin a days worth of healthy eating and exercise on the extra calories and sugar that alcohol provides. Plus in my quest to eat more whole30 -ish the sugar in alcohol sends my body for a loop and the dehydration sometimes isn’t worth the hassle. I’m not saying I’ve sworn off alcohol completely but I’ve cut wayyyyy back! 😉
Instead of trying to talk myself in or out of alcohol I’ve been creating some rather delicious chilled mocktails! With all of the watermelon and fresh strawberries around the farmers market right now, this drink is not only a sweet end of the day drink but a great local choice too!
2 1/2 cups cubed chilled watermelon
1/2 cup diced strawberries
squeeze of fresh lime
A few cubes of ice
Sprig of mint
Put all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth.
Enjoy these hot days of summer with a fresh and good for you drink…and remember to always drink responsibly!
