Whoa sorry about my week off clearly I wasn’t very prepared for this week…I swear hockey is taking over my life. You know it’s bad when my husband who has played hockey his entire life looks at me and says “ugh I can’t wait for this season to be over!” Only 4 more weeks…4 more weeks…then I might get my life and time back. So let’s catch up over coffee!
If we were having coffee and catching up I would tell you all about the new bed we just bought. Or I should say my husband bought while I bit my tongue until I saw how it worked. While Casper commercials have always looked interesting, I’ve never had the courage to purchase. My husband on the other hand while laying in our uncomfortable bed…placed an order upon seeing a commercial.
It’s crazy when it shows up in a little box and I was skeptical but after 10 days I’m a believer!! Who knew a good nights sleep was just waiting for me to order a bed that expands from a box! And let’s not forget my husband won’t let me forget I didn’t think it was a good idea. I’ll admit it I was wrong!
I will also tell you that it was much easier getting up out of my crappy bed for 5am workouts than it is out of my comfy bed. 😉 I only made it to one 5am this week and it was to skate. Yes skating remember that skill I’m trying to master this year. So far I skate a lot like a person trying to not fall on their butt, it’s not graceful and my feet are killing me but I have one practice in…only 500 more to go till I’m on par with my youngest. Ok maybe 1,000 more times.
Other workouts however have been rocking. I’m still using body beast as my main workouts and adding in some spin classes, TRX and Yoga. I need variety.
I’ve found a new to me Sunday afternoon Strength & Surrender Yoga class. And it’s magical you can quote me on that. It’s 45 minutes of hot vinyasa flow with 45 minutes of restorative yoga… and it just makes my soul happy. It’s the perfect combination of what I need, a tough sweaty flow with some chill time after.
I’ve also found some spin classes that work for my schedule. My quads and hamstrings hate them so they must be working…
If we were having coffee I would tell you and show you my awesome new hair! Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity to hit up Bijou Salon in Skaneateles and the fabulous Donnie fixed my crazy hair colors.
Donnie and I bonded over the fact we both grew up on farms and I’m sure scared at least half of the people who were also getting their hair done with our stories of childhood. If you didn’t grow up on a farm you can’t understand the madness that is being a farm kid. No one in my household looked forward to snow days or wished for them. I would rather go to school any day over staying home and working. Thanks to Kim, Donnie and Bijou for my awesome new locks! Is there any better feeling than fresh new dos?
I would probably also tell you I haven’t really been in the kitchen much and that needs to change. After a month (ok more like 15 days ) of whole30 I’ve gotten in the habit of batching meals and none of them are very pretty. It’s full on tupperware meals that look like a stew of some sort even though they taste amazing.
I promise I’m getting back in there and I’ll have some new meals coming up soon.
And that’s about it over here, well all this and hockey and it’s mostly just hockey! It’s a good thing they are so cute. And if you haven’t seen it yet this video basically sums up how I spend my life from October – March
Question of the Day: What are you up too this month?
