You may remember a few weeks ago when Chobani sent me a super special package of amazing yogurt? Not only did they send me some bites to try but also some 6oz. containers of Pear and Banana. My brain is still processing what to make with the pear flavor since its incredible right out of the tub. But when I needed a breakfast food for my babes this week. I knew the Banana Choabni was the ticket.
This family eats a lot of bread. We have small children it’s to be expected. But my kids get really excited for Banana Bread. And as far as quick breads go it’s a simple one to make.
Meal planning has been completely off this week thanks to that half marathon on Sunday. I’m fairly certain I came home and passed out for the rest of the afternoon. I have a few memories of working on client stuff and watching 20 minutes of American Pickers but other than that much of Sunday was a complete blur. Meal planning has been a daily struggle.
Breakfast is a tough meal around here. My kids do not eat cereal. Which to me is CRAZY since as a kid I LOVED cereal. But to each their own. During the week breakfasts are pancakes, donuts and yogurt. You know the healthy stuff 😉 In an attempt to ween my small hummingbirds off the morning sugar, I turned to Chobani for this week.
Chobani Banana Bread:
- 2 cups of Flour
- 2- 6oz. containers of Chobani Banana
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 stick of Butter Soft
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- Grease your bread pan and pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
- Cream together Chobani, Sugar, butter and eggs.
- Add dry ingredients, flour, baking soda, baking powder, Cinnamon and salt.
- Bake for 45 minutes – 1 hour at 425 degrees. Check with a tooth pick to see if center is cooked through.
So far so good the boys have been having a slice each morning! My youngest would eat the entire loaf if it was up to him. Looking to shake up your morning routine give this bread a try. I like a slice with my salad for lunch. Delicious!
**Chobani sent me products to sample, all opinions and recipes are my own**
This week has been pretty lackluster for workouts. I’m still icing my knee and foam rolling from the half.
- 2,000 yards in the pool on Monday
- 5 mile recovery run on the plan for today
Don’t forget to check out the Facebook Page as I’m giving away a BAMR Band headband over there. Contest Ends March 31st so hurry!
I’m also happy to report that after a brief hiatus with surgeries and races getting in the way. I will be back next week with a few new installments of #CuseFIT2013. Yeah!!!
Question of the Day: Where is Spring? Have you seen it?
