I hope all your weekends went well! I spent mine shopping for a new washing machine. My Sunday threw me a complete curve ball! The plan was to rest, use my new washing machine, and run a 5k in the afternoon, none of those things happened. My running partner for the 5k couldn’t make it and I got some GREAT news that my brother was back at my parents house! So of course we made the trip on Sunday to see him! It’s about a two and a half hour trip each way. It’s been a scary time for all of us and we aren’t out the woods yet but getting to see him put much of my worries to rest.
He also brought back with him some “goodies” from China. This milk chocolate candy was pretty good. I only had one piece. I forget when there are 4 children under the age of 5 running around opening chocolate YOU want to eat is a bad idea!
There are also these goodies? I have no idea what they are but I’m going to have fun opening them and finding out! My brother assured me they are some kind of candy and the other are dried and seasoned seeds (think sunflower?) Sure they are for all know those label say poison DON’T EAT!
I’m eying a 5 mile run today and some weights. We’ll see how the plan works out since my little guy is AGAIN battling a cold. I feel like he’s a never-ending germ farm, poor guy! In case you missed it this weekend on instagram (bendifulblog), I had the joy of buying a new washing machine!
Yes you read that correctly. I’m officially old. I spent 4 hours of my Saturday comparing and contrasting different models and sizes of washers. Exciting stuff I promise. 😉 After three stores and endless sales pitches we settled on this beauty!
While appliance shopping can be rewarding…after all I did get what I was looking for. I also found it doesn’t deliver the same satisfaction as say shoe or workout gear shopping. At no point did I say “oh this is cute”, “I really like this color” or “wow that’s a great price”. It was more like “will this fit down my stairs?”, “what is H.E.soap?”, “top or front load?” Yeah I told you exciting stuff!
I’m happy to report this beauty is TWICE as big as my old washer that came with the house, that we estimated to be at least 20+ years old! I’m washing my first load now who knew laundry could be so exciting?! Like I said <del>I’m old</del> it’s a big moment.
I’m playing catch up on some work today but I’ve got some great stuff in store for you this week! Make your Monday marvalous!
Question of the Day: What makes you feel “old”? What are your goals for today?
