I hear it all the time from friends and family asking about starting a weight loss or get healthy journey. The third question after what to eat and where to start is what gym should I join? I love gyms don’t get me wrong I adore them. And I firmly believe they help keep me motivated and pushed for tough workouts but there is no rule that says you MUST belong to a gym. Running can be done completely outdoors.
I use gyms for child watch and group classes. And also for longer runs on wintry days. But on any given day I can kick my own butt with workouts in my home that just use my body weight.
I’ve been telling you all about the push up challenge I’ve been participating in for the past few weeks…well guess what that’s just body weight. I don’ t NEED anything special to give my arms a burn.Granted I am using an app to keep track of the reps and plan but I don’t need to.
Here is a fairly quick workout to get you started your legs will be feeling it in no time!
If you want to make it more difficult, repeat the workout more than once or add to the reps.
These little body weight workouts I use a lot on busy office days. They can be done anywhere and help me fit in fitness on my time.
Lunch today was a Fridge clean out including red peppers, carrots, roasted asparagus from last nights dinner, Cucumber and chicken. It was pretty tasty, I added a big scoop of homemade garlic humus to the top and called it a win!
I’ve also been busy working behind the scenes on the 13th annual Ardison/Farney Memorial race which will take place in Croghan, NY this year! The race was very close to ending and we are hoping to bring it back to life this year, in honor of the two young runners who tragically lost their lives too early.
