First off HUGE MASSIVE thanks yous to the men and women who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms each and every day, not just on Veterans Day!
Monday’s off make for strange weeks. This morning I dropped my son off at preschool and his teacher was like “B what are you doing here on a Monday?” Then I went into panic mode like OH NO do I have the wrong day? And I quickly tried to remember what I did yesterday that would prove it was Monday. Of course I could think of nothing and just stood there looking bewildered. Then another parent rolled in and confirmed for me it was Tuesday and life went on. Am I the only one who has those moments of OH MY GOD have I lost my mind? I feel like they are happening more and more to me as my children get older and I’m scared the boys are already shopping for my room in the old folks home because of it.
Yesterday was a great day of catching up. We travelled all weekend long with hockey and birthday parties. I was looking forward to a nice day of lounging and TV. Sadly I didn’t really get any lounging or TV time in but I did have a productive day.
Speaking of the weekend R had his moment of glory, getting to dress as a real goalie for his hockey game. Mind you this child has dreamed of being a goalie since birth. Every morning last week he woke up and asked how many days until he got to be THE goalie! And in a not so proud parenting moment I may have used it as leverage for good behavior on more than one occasion.
Look at his face! Even after all my pushing we might have a goalie after all.
Of course my hockey journey of upstate NY rinks wouldn’t be complete without B’s turn in the rink. Luckily for us he is still learning to skate and his practices are only 45 minutes long! God Bless those dads out there picking up these kids every few minutes. I don’t know how they do it!
Of course since my husband’s entire family is born with hockey in their blood it was only a matter of time before my youngest found his calling for the sport! B is now obsessed with hockey and thinks we should go skating everyday, multiple times a day. Golfers kids become golfers! It’s WARM where you play, There is NO bodily contact and again most important IT’S WARM where you play.
I’m just kidding around about the golf stuff but seriously…it’s always an option 😉
After the hockey games we drove the 2 and a half hours to my parents house for my niece and nephews joint bowling birthday party! The kids had a blast! I on the other hand am not a high quality bowler, but I rocked those shoes.
Now to continue on with this strange short week!
What I’m reading: If you haven’t already heard about Lulu’s CEO telling women it’s your fault our pants don’t work (nice apology BTW!) Here is a great list of OTHER brands of workout gear that are more in touch with actual women- Brands that Aren’t Lululemon.
Make it a great one everybody!
Question of the Day: What professional sport would you want to play?
