This week is all about back to school. If you are a teacher may the force be with you! If you’re a student rock it out this year and if you’re a mom like me it’s a strange feeling of freedom.
With my oldest in school ALL DAY, I’ve been enjoying some more time with little boy and my fur baby!
We took in a great 2 mile walk/run in the fall sunshine. The highlight was me seeing a snake and RUNNING away screaming while my poor little B screamed from behind me “MOMMY don’t leave ME!” I have a zero tolerance for being within 30000 miles of a snake. I seriously freak out! They creep me out and I can’t help but make weird noises and RUN when I see one.
At our old house I saw a snake out front once and seriously considered moving to avoid the problem. Those shaker things that promise to keep snakes away from your house, I bet they don’t work but I would still pay outrageous amounts of money to live a happy life believing the lie that they work. I own 3 tubes and in the spring I sprinkle them around and hope they work! I also avoid looking down at the ground too much around my house…
After I calmed down and stopped running, I made B catch up to me while I waited shaking thinking about the fact he was close to a snake. It was a Gold Star parenting moment 😉
It was just about lunch time when we finished our walk and after a short walk what could be better than eating at a cute little deli called “A Short Walk” ?
I’m sad to say I had never been here before. Located on Jordan Road just outside the village it’s a short walk for a GREAT sandwich! Or Samich as I’m calling them these days.
We tied miss Bella outside while we went in and ordered. She enjoyed watching people walk by and exploring all her leash gave her access too in other words she took a sweet rest after our walk.
Meanwhile inside we ordered our culinary treats. B got a grilled cheese and I ordered the Ryan’s favorite. I also just learned my sister-in-law has her own samich creation here, called Kimmie’s Creatin’!
My lunch date enjoyed his grilled cheese and root beer!
While I enjoyed this amazing sandwich and my root beer! The sandwich included turkey, pepper bacon, avocado, spicy mayo, XXX sharp cheddar on a grilled rosemary focaccia.
I can’t say enough fabulous things about this sandwich! I didn’t leave a single crumb of it. And the pasta salad was just as good and even had kalamata olives in it. I love those little purple wonders!
If you are ever in Skaneateles be sure to check out A Short Walk,
Tonight was my first night of solo Spin instruction! So I celebrated with a nervous selfie…
Question of the day: What is the best samich you’ve ever had? Sandwich or Samich?
