In my quest to blog for 101 days today I’m sharing with you my new found pleasure…Amazon Prime Video. I’ve had Amazon Prime for what feels like forever and yet until VERY recently I haven’t ever used it to watch shows.
Enter my new treadmill with a streaming TV service and yep… I’m binge watching all sorts of series on Amazon Prime. I have to say I’ve sampled a ton of shows some I like some I don’t. I need a special combination of interesting and not too serious for me to workout with. And I have found the workout part works best if I ONLY allow myself to watch the shows if I’m running or walking on the treadmill. It’s forced for sure but right now I have no willpower so it’s working. Suttle forced motivation… I’m all about that!
Best Shows for Treadmill Run on Amazon Prime:
First up and now award-winning: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It’s a lot of talking but I love this show. There is only 1 season so far and it is short with just 6 episodes. It goes by quickly and makes you feel very accomplished with lots of miles logged and laughs created by the time you finish. What’s not to love… a funny woman’s husband leaves her and she by accident becomes a stand-up comedian. I can’t wait for this one to return.
The Americans: Ok, this isn’t an Amazon original but this show is a kickass adventure about Russian Spies living in the USA in the 1980’s. It’s full of action and the 80’s soundtrack is pretty kicking too! There are 5, 13 episodes season so you’ll be with this series for a long time. Some episodes are a little draggy but for the most part, Keri Russel beating up various people makes me want to workout to have her body.
Girl Power: Good Girls Revolt. This drama was canceled after just one season but rumor has it might be coming back? Lots of fun in this period piece about 1960’s researchers who want a chance to be reporters at the fictional News of the Week Magazine. There is quite a bit of nudity and fun but the story is a good one and with just 10 episodes it left me wondering what the heck happens next…I hope they get a season 2. Also I love Anna Camp in anything so this was the selling point for me.
These are all fun shows to watch on the treadmill and have kept me moving while watching them. I’m just getting into my Amazon Prime Video experience so I’m sure there are other fun series I’m missing from the service. I can’t get over how many original shows are on there. I will admit I tried to watch Man in the High Tower and on the treadmill just couldn’t get into it. That seemed like a thinking show that needed more of my attention, and I just couldn’t get into it on the mill.
Question of the Day: What other shows and movies should I check out on Amazon Prime?
