Today was a “successful” sick day? Is that even possible?
As a parent the most difficult decisions I can face is on mornings when I have sick kids, what to do? Do I give them a little pain relief and hope they feel better at daycare ( maybe get 1/2 a day in), or do I call in to work. Any working parent will tell you this is never a great feeling. Today was one of those mornings I chose to stay home and cuddle with my little sick man. Plus he was running a pretty high fever and I never trust those!
Needless to say my morning workout was out of the question with my two-year old attached to me. Instead I whipped us some great eggs! And we watched “HOP” for the 6th time in 2 days! It’s actually kind of cute if you’ve got little ones.
This Sandwich is a 100 calorie sandwich thin toasted, with 2 eggs, 2 slices of deli turkey, a little cheese, and topped with salsa. The plate made it look like a breakfast of Champions
Lunch was a spinach salad that ended up looking a lot like strawberries and avocados when all was said and done:
I also got a chance to fiddle with our Cable TV during nap time and was excited to find Health on Demand ( I have Time Warner Cable). I was heart-broken when Excercise TV died at the beginning of the year. I loved those 10 minute on-demand sessions. They were nice quick early morning pushes! Low and behold on Health on Demand I found a BUFF Moms Class that was 20 minutes long! Just a little longer than some of the classes on Excercise TV used to be. Lots of squats and weights later it was a quick but thorough work out. It worked the back which I need since life behind a desk is currently killing my posture and wreaking havoc on my middle! If you have Time Warner I would suggest looking it up.
After the 20 minute on-demand sessions, I got a chance to try out these moves from Shape Magazine this month: My quads are on FIRE!!
With my little guy felling a little better the rest of the afternoon I spent working on my creative ideas for teaching & learning with Toddlers. That post should be ready later on this week!
I’m still looking for any last-minute ideas for toddler learning fun if you have any! Also don’t miss today’s earlier post, I’m getting a lot of great feed back from the Copy Cat Chili’s Southwest Egg Rolls.
