After a weekend that seemed to flash by in the blink of an eye, this Monday has hit me like a ton of bricks!
In case you missed it we hung out with a former governor on Saturday night…no big deal… Double Date at Gordon Biersch.
This day already feels like it’s flying by. Breakfast was some delicious oatmeal. I’ve been on a kick lately and oatmeal has been hitting the spot. It seems to ward off the evil hungry again by 9am monster! This mornings flavor was cinnamon apple… I couldn’t get a good picture of it…please use this appetizing photo instead.
My AM workout was fun but challenging: 3 miles on the elliptical then arm weights which thanks to Joy’s encouragement I pushed through some heavier weights, to shake it up! I was secretly looking forward to this workout. A trip to the outlet mall on Saturday helped me spend my gift certificate from Reebok that has been burning a hole in my pocket since the day it arrived!
There is nothing like new gear to help you push extra hard in a workout! All these goods for under $100 YES PLEASE. I was most excited for my new Compressions socks! They should work well for some chilly runs this winter. I’ve got my eye on a March half marathon through the city…
This trip I bought:
-Pink Real Flex Tank
-Compression Running Socks
– Black Fitted Play Dry Tights
– Slate Bonded Jacket (best buy of the day JUST $35!!)
– And some cute socks
Unfortunately for me I’m an idiot, and can’t read, the tights I bought are extra-large so they will need to be returned :/But the rest of it, I am down right giddy about!
This pink shirt is really soft and long. Plus it almost has a pattern to it, it’s not just overwhemling pink. They had it in purple, blue, grey and pink. I was torn between the grey and pink. I’m happy I went with the pink since most of my shorts and pants are a solid black or grey color.
The Elf for Health Challenge of the day is 100oz of water! I’ve been carrying my water bottle with me most of the day and am happy to report I’m up to 50 oz already! Just two more water bottles full and goal met! Drinking more water is a great way to keep healthy.
I used to set a outlook reminder for water each day to be sure I was drinking enough, it was also a good reminder to get up and move when you are working at a desk! Get up move your legs and fill your water bottle. I like to set mine for 10am, 1pm and 3pm. Do you set alarms for healthy choices?
Another great way to get more water swap out your 2pm soda/juice/coffee for a refreshing tea! I’ve been sipping on Choice Masala Chai…yummm. Some people love Chai and others not so much! I am firmly in the Chai is delicious group.
I’m off for a quick trip to the grocery store! Shrimp Stir-Fry for dinner….but that’s kind of hard to make without the shrimp!
Question of the Day: What is your favorite piece of workout gear?
