I love starting my morning with coffee in a Vader mug, some local news, and a text message to sub! BIG thank you’s to my mother in law who took my oldest to LAX in the rain!
I taught TWO back to back water fit classes, one in the shallow ended followed by another in the deep end. There may or may not have been games of the hokey pokey involved which spurred some of the regulars to ask if I also taught nursery school. I’m sure they really enjoyed me singing to them…I would classify my singing skills somewhere between glass shattering and a first rejected American Idol contestant. Yeah it’s that good 😉
After a mixed up morning. I decided to get in my own workout. I opted for Turbo Fire Greatest HIITS!
It’s a shorter workout time wise and fit better into the schedule of my day. Haha I know why this lady is smiling so much on the cover. It’s because she is going to make you cry in 20 minutes or less.
The workout is in HIIT style and after a few minute warm up is a series of movements completed in :30 On as fast as you can go with :30 second breaks. Only the time on and off increase as you get into the workout going all the way up to 1 minute. It took me a few times to get the movements down. I had to stop the DVD and restart it for one set that I just couldn’t figure out how to keep up with.
There is a lot of plyometrics in this workout so be prepared to JUMP! I was sweating just a few minutes in. It’s a solid DVD and one I’m sure I will use more moving forward.
My eats for today have been getting back on the whole 30 track. I’ve been pretty lazy lately about it recently. And for the past week by 3pm I am completely wiped out, and I have weird headaches. So it’s probably a good sign it’s time to get back to serious with my nutrition.
Getting back on whole 30/ paleo is easier said than done. I’ve been rather enjoying my ice cream treats…but dairy is a NO GO.
I made myself eggs, with a few bacon slices, fresh salsa and sriracha.
And lunch was this salad of sorts with an apple. I was heartbroken the half an avocado I had been saving for this lunch had already gone bad so it wasn’t as delicious as it should have been.
I’ve been using my pinterest lately in trying to find some new fun recipes to keep me cooking and all into whole 30 again. Unfortunately I’m not sure some people quite understand what whole 30 is? Several of the pins I found called for cheese or butter which threw me for a loop, I know that’s a no-no. A few even had me pulling out my It Starts with Food Book just to double-check I wasn’t crazy.
So if you are eating whole30 be sure to check out your recipes carefully.
It’s been a pretty productive day around these parts. It’s amazing what a good to-do list can do for you! I just like crossing things off, it is its own form of therapy.

Questions of the Day: Have you tired Turbo Fire? Do you ever randomly sing the hokey pokey in front of people?
