You made it folks! Happy Friday to you all, I hope your weekends are looking full and fun. Mine will be FULL of Hockey, Running and hopefully getting a hug from my brother who is in the USA for some doctors appointments in Boston!! I can’t wait! I hate to wish away a day but there is a dentist appointment in my future so I feel like you can wish days like this away 😉
Let’s get foodie! It’s my favorite way to be.
My November Foodie Pen Pal Amy gave me the HOOK UP! Look at the Trader Joe goodies. There isn’t a Trader Joe’s store within a Bagillion miles of my house. Ok that may be an exaggeration but even still. I have never felt like the 2 hour drive to the nearest store was a battle I could get my fam on board for. When my package arrived and I saw the TJ goodies I was giddy to dig in. Please notice the trail mix is already open…yeah I couldn’t even wait for photos!
Ahhhhh this trail mix was the perfect mix of salty and sweet! And will ya looky there….that’s white and milk chocolate! OMG I think I ate the entire bag in 3 days. I had some help since my children also discovered the deliciousness.
And my pen pal Amy was amazing not only did she read my blog to know my favorites, but also delivered on them. Dunkin Donuts K-cups! Yummm as I’ve said before I don’t understand the love for Starbucks I’m a DD girl. And these were fabulous. The best part of waking up is some dark coffee in my cup! Amy also delivered these amazing oatmeal packets. Pecan Pumpkin umm yes please!
THANK YOU SO MUCH AMY! You made my day with your great foodie package!
Interested in learning more about Foodie Pen Pals or signing up? You don’t need to be a blogger! Lindsay from the Lean Green Bean has done what I can call a CRAZY great job as the mastermind and executor of this program. The rules are this:
Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
– Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!
Shout out today to my amazing Elf Amalia if you follow me on twitter (@cusecomm) you will notice lots of convo’s between the two of us. Be sure to visit her blog and see what she’s been up too! You can also follow her on twitter (@ama_liab)
Today’s Challenge in the #elf4health is to Eat the Rainbow…how many different colors can you eat?
I’m thinking a veggie packed salad for lunch, and a Stir Fry for dinner will give me tons of color! My breakfast hasn’t been very colorful but I’m working on some fun snacks!
Today is also the last day of the month, how are you doing on your goals for November? I’ve got some miles to run today but I’m looking good so far!
Question of the Day: How many different colors can you eat in a day?
