OUT! That’s about how the weekend went by. I had glorious plans for long runs and getting organized but those never happened. The rain seemed to kill my motivation.
I did however muster up the energy to watch the final premier of Dexter. I know, a serial killer I care about, it is weird. But it’s the final season so no matter how bad last season was I have to finish out the series.
This morning kicked off rather quickly around these parts. We had lacrosse bright and early.
I whipped up this delicious breakfast favorite in the 3 minutes I had while wrestling my children to awake and heading out the door for practice.
Yummm chia seeds and almond butter delicious!
While watching my sons practice I had a lively discussion about running shows with some high school college age girls. I love hearing what everyone’s favorite shoes are and why. I was wearing my new UA shoes and they commented on how they didn’t know Under Armour made sneakers but they really liked the color of them. I filled them all in on what Under Armour has been up to including a little about the #whatsbeautiful campaign. And let them know what I thought about my new kicks.
We talked about Ascis, Nike, Saucony and Under Armour. What we liked, didn’t like and how most people especially runners find one shoe they like and own it in a million different pairs. My fitness closet has a collection of different shoes that I wear for specific events. I like to run now in my Sauconys. I like various classes in my Reeboks and I like to walk in my Under Armours.
I’ll admit my knowledge about shoes is pretty limited and lately I’ve been getting out of my comfort zone by trying out new brands and types of shoes. Do you have a favorite must buy brand? When I first started running I swore by Nikes. I loved their trail running shoes, but now I rarely use my one lasting pair of Nikes. They have been replaced by Reebok. I think each model of a sneaker influences my decisions as well. And I hate to be one of those girls but color for me is also important. Right now I’m loving brights and Neons!
I’m looking forward to an evening run tonight which hopefully will be closer to 6 miles and not the 3 I had planned before my weekend of strike outs.
I’m also back in the kitchen today with more Strawberry Jam! I hope my kids LOVE this stuff because I plan on feeding it to them forever until it’s gone
Questions of the day: How was your weekend? I want to hear from you what is your favorite running shoe and WHY?
