Hi everyone, remember me? I’m not even sure where to begin that’s how long it feels like since I have written a word here. Sure it’s probably only been a few months but it’s been a crazy few months outside of this blog. I’m committing to 101 days of blogging so maybe we can reconnect?
Let me fill you in on the highlights: I started a new awesome and incredible job. Visited a few hundred (maybe slightly less) hockey rinks. Recommitted to some level of fitness. Bought a treadmill. Made some goals for 2018. Learned how to use our snowblower. You know all the fun things that happen in life.
Can we talk for a minute about this sweatshirt? I bought it on a whim from fabletics and it literally is my new armor against the winter cold. It’s soft, thick and tunic length for perfect booty coverage when you sit. If you’ve ever sat in a cold hockey rink you know how important that can be.
We celebrated this little dudes 8th birthday. I used to think raising kids and working was the worst when my kids were babies but oh man as they have gotten older and have their own lives going on it’s gotten even crazier.
I’m an official full-time taxi driver, from place to things and events and games. One night this week we were actually home as an entire family, and my husband and I both joked… “so this is how other families do it, they aren’t at hockey rinks every night of the week and eat together like normal people!” I couldn’t wait for them to be able to take care of themselves but WOW I had no idea how much me time I had back them that isn’t in the scheudle now. I’m not wishing away the time but trying to figure out how to put me on the important things list too.
Speaking of dinner, I signed up for Blue Apron and it’s life-changing. My photos do this meal no justice, but this was delicious!
Ginger Marinated grassfeed steak with some delicious veggies and radishes. When even my husband is having seconds and thirds you know it’s good! While I am trying to stay whole 30 compliant obvious this meal has some hiccups. I swapped out the soy sauce for coconut aminoes but rice is still rice. Anyway, this was amazing and it works perfectly for us.
I really just needed some fresh ideas for dinner. Like all busy moms, I’ve been in a rut of chicken lately. We move from Chicken to Chicken Pot Pie to Chicken Quesadillas to Chicken and anything else that can possibly go with chicken to tacos to burgers to literally anything that is easy and takes less than 5 minutes. And let’s not forget the amazing frozen pizzas! I’m in desperate need of some new ideas. And with just one delivery I’ve gotten some great ideas!
I’ll do a full review of these meals at some point. I’ve committed to 101 days of blogging. I’m hoping that it gets me back on the blogging track. I fell off the wagon hard but I needed a little break from blog life while I adjusted to what life looks like now.
So for the meantime… here goes 101 days of blogging and reconnecting!
Question of the day: Tell me everything I’ve missed over the past few months!
